Regular yoga brings balance back to our inner selves, allowing you to access your most authentic and true self, consequently being less affected by the stresses of the outside world. By coming to a yoga retreat and dedicating time to yourself in a supportive and peaceful environment, subsequently, you will leave with a sense of peace and the knowledge and confidence to integrate these practices into your everyday life.
Meditation classes at Mahakala
We live in a age of constant stimulation there for we rarely let our minds slow down and just be. So depression and anxiety levels are going through the roof. Through meditation we can control this again and train our brain to stop our negative thinking. But there are so many forms of meditation and it is sometimes hard to find what works best for you. At our retreat we try out many different types of meditation techniques such as candle light meditation, breathing exercises, mantras and many more.
Breathing classes at Mahakala
Your breath is your most intimate companion. It is the essential interface between your body and your mind. Your breath both responds to and controls your emotions as well as your thoughts. Yogic breathing exercises are called “pranayama”. The literal translation of this Sanskrit word is “control of the prana”.
It is the subtle energy that is used and manipulated in acupuncture, Shiatsu, Reiki, Tai Chi, reflexology, and many Eastern martial arts. You will be doing a range of different types of breathing exercises ranging from basic abdominal breathing to AnulomVilom (alternate nostril breathing).
